Inlace is typically used to highlight/fill any hand carving. This is then sanded down and polished; giving a completely flat surface on the wood.
Resin is usually used to provide a toughened surface for any top that may have items placed upon it.
Both resin and Inlace can be clear or have colour added to give different, and often spectacular finish effects. Resin can also have large solid items placed within the mix to preserve or highlight special finishes or items.
